«The birth of baby with Down syndrome: acceptance, development, bringing up» is the title of the final informational seminar for parents. The seminar took place at Minsk International Educational Center under the name of Johannes Rau (Minsk, Prospect Pravda, 11), December, 22. The seminar was hold under the frames of «I was born!» project.

The speakers of the seminar are:
Tatiana Rykovskaya, ‘Down. Syndrome. Inclusion’ organization deputy chairman;
Alla Sinkevich, ‘I was born!’ project manager;
Elena Krachkovskaya, mother of a child with Down syndrome.
Along with the results of the «I was born!» project, the seminar participants were presented with an analysis of the needs of the project target group and the «Down. Syndrome. Inclusion» organization target group in general. A concrete example showed the successful experience of raising and developing a child with Down syndrome in the family.
Besides, two leaflets issued during the project were presented, with information materials prepared by specialists from the Interdistrict Center for Early Intervention, association and «Down. Syndrome. Inclusion» organization:
- «To help professionals». The leaflet contains recommendations for specialists on effective work with families in which children with Down syndrome are born and raised;
- «To help parents». The brochure provides necessary and useful information for parents raising children with Down syndrome.
The event was attended by members of «Down. Syndrome. Inclusion» organization and parents raising children with Down syndrome of an early age. Both during the seminar and in an informal atmosphere live communication together with useful exchange of experience between parents took place. Participants noted the importance of project activities aimed at timely and comprehensive support for families in which children with Down syndrome are born.
