Denis Neverko: Good day everyone! My name is Denis. I have never written posts and could not even imagine that I would have to ask for help. Life is an unpredictable thing: it can sometimes change 360 degrees, which happened to me.
There were certain achievements in sports in childhood and it seemed to me that it would always be this way. I have been making money since teenage years in order not to depend on my parents. Everything worked out as planned. I served in the army, where I had good standing, went to work in Russia, made plans for the future. Nothing foreshadowed any troubles.
It was a usual hot day and I decided to take a swim. Because of unsuccessfull diving, I seriously injured the spine and ended up in a wheelchair. I have tetraplegia (arms and legs do not work). Doctors predicted that I would not be able to speak and breathe on my own (only through a ventilator). But the blow of fate did not break me: despite the injury, I did not give up and was actively engaged (physiotherapy exercises, massages). I reviewed my whole life “before”, learned to live anew, realized my mistakes and became kinder and more attentive to people.
Soon it will be 9 years since the tragedy. During this time, I accepted myself as I am, learned to appreciate every passing day, came to God (confession, communion). I also mastered a special computer program that allows me to manage a laptop without the help of hands. I met a lot of kind people who help to diversie my life: they organize trips to nature, visit a disco, a cinema, parachute jumps, and scuba diving.
A few years ago I got an apartment and started living on my own. My mother takes care of me. But she is already at an elderly age and it gets more and more difficult for her to take care of me. I have a low income and cannot afford to pay for all the necessary treatment and care, so I have to seek help. If someone has the opportunity, please help with the collection to pay for treatment, rehabilitation and social services. I will report all expenses if necessary.
