Located in the Grodno region, a social shelter for adults starts operating at the Fate and Hope institution in July.
One of the employees of the institution's team was provided with a dwelling house to organize a shelter for those in need. Landscaping works are currently being carried out in the house and in the area around it. There are furniture, household appliances, dishes and other accessories necessary for living in the house.
It is assumed that the first tenant of the house will be an elderly woman in a crisis situation. In the 90s, due to tragic circumstances, she was forced to sell her house in Minsk and use the rental one. In recent years, she has been caring for the elderly in exchange for boarding - accommodation and meals. In May of this year, a man who was cared for by a woman died, so there was a question of paying for an apartment at a commercial value or eviction from it. The only income of a woman is a low pension which does not allow renting an apartment in Minsk.
The woman is 83, and social welfare specialists offer her a place in a nursing home. However, a woman has the strength and desire to live independently and is even ready to help others. She endures difficulties with patience and humility, thanks God and people for all the help provided.
In parallel with the improvement of the social shelter, the team of the institution is working to organize a medical examination and provide state social services for an elderly woman at the place of her future residence.
