On November 30, 2018, specialists of the institution took part in the “Family Values: Demographic, Social and Spiritual Security” section organized within the framework of the 4th Belarusian Christmas Readings “Youth: Freedom and Responsibility” (November 29-30, 2018).
The inauguration of the Christmas readings was held on November 29 at the National Library. Section meetings were held on November 30 in the higher educational institutions of the capital. The section “Family Values: Demographic, Social and Spiritual Security” was held in the Minsk Theological Academy. The round table was moderated by Larisa Arkadyevna Martynova, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Psychology and Management of the Minsk Regional Institute for Educational Development, and Matulya, Center for Family and Maternity Support, Master of Humanities, holder of the Order of Mother Veronika Vladimirovna Serdyuk.
The event united in the work of representatives of public organizations and government agencies of various departments from Minsk and regions of the republic. A bright and informative kaleidoscope of speeches provoked a lively interest among participants in the stated problems and experience in various areas of protecting traditional family values:
• The value of family, marriage and childbirth in a biblical context. Veronika V. Serdyuk, Head of the Matulya Center.
• Protection of minor motherhood: social and legal aspects. Gureeva Ekaterina Alexandrovna, lawyer, executive secretary of the Synodal Commission of the Belarusian Orthodox Church.
• Social and legal support for families in crisis situations. Irina Logvin, Fate and Hope Assistance Institution in a Difficult Life Situation.
• Bogdan Elena Statkevich and Solomeretskaya: family famous Orthodox patrons of the 17th century. Pavel A. Korolev, a leading researcher at the State Literary Museum of Yanka Kupala.
• Educational project on reproductive health for girls “Eve 13”: modern knowledge and chastity. Serdyuk Veronika Vladimirovna.
• Responsibility as a key component of family values. Kirp Sergey, associate professor of the Belarusian State University.
A meeting with volunteers of the Gomel public charity association “Center for family and maternity support Mamaleto” was held online. Lyudmila Vladimirovna Logunova, psychologist, chairman of the organization’s board, actualized the problem of educational activity and its content in accordance with the stages of the formation of value orientations and family attitudes among adolescents. Baida Oksana Vasilyevna, a lawyer-volunteer association told about the experience of helping families in overcoming crisis situations using family mediation.
As Larisa Martynova noted, during the preparation of the section program, attention was paid to aspects of the problem of preserving and strengthening traditional family values in various spheres of the Belarusian society.
The IV Belarusian Christmas Readings are organized by the Belarusian Orthodox Church with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
