Family is the environment in which a child receives care, warmth, and love. A healthy family teaches loyalty, respect, kindness, and mutual support, creating all the conditions for a child to grow up happy. However, as a result of tragic circumstances, children may find themselves outside of their family, left without the care of their parents. And in such cases, relatives are not always able to take on the child's upbringing. An alternative to placing a child in a state institution is placing them in a substitute family – a foster family.
What are foster families and family-type orphanages? Who are foster parents? How does foster care differ from guardianship and adoption? What are the conditions for becoming foster parents and creating a foster family or a family-type orphanage?
These and other questions can be answered at a consultation day organized by the Social and Pedagogical Center of the Moskovsky District of Minsk.
