The birth of a child with a disability radically changes a family's life. Parents are forced to rethink their lives, change their priorities, and focus on the child, who becomes the center of their world.

Even with the experience of recognizing unconditional love, parents experience stress, fear, and a harsh attitude toward their child's fate. Children develop a special sense of depth as their parents age. The difficulty of understanding the inner world of an elderly mother, left alone with her adult son or daughter, and the maternal fear that surrounds her, leads to the core question: «Who will take care of them when I'm gone?». As their own strength fades, stress levels rise, and loneliness sets in. For such parents, attention and support from society are especially important.

From April 23rd to 24th, our team is holding a charity event called «Caring for Our Neighbors»: the crisis assistance institution «Fate and Hope» is providing food packages to support families living alone and their adult children with disabilities from the Primary Organization of the NGO «BelAPDIiMI of the Moskovsky District of Minsk».

About 100 families raising children and young adults with disabilities participate in the NGO «BelAPDIiMI of the Moskovsky District of Minsk». Those wishing to help this organization can call: +375297731889, Valentina.
